Sabrent has launched a new large-capacity SD memory card. The Sabrent Rocket V60 SD UHS-II memory card has a massive 1 TB of storage space.

Read and write speeds

The Sabrent 1TB Rocket V60 SD UHS-II memory card has a maximum read speed of 270 MBps for sequential reads. The company also quotes 170 MBps for the maximum write speeds for sequential writes. In addition, the 1TB Rocket V60 SD card uses a powerful new controller combined with 112-Layer BiCS5 TLC to ensure reliable performance. The card also has a write-protect switch so you can avoid accidentally erasing or overwriting your important content.

It is important to note that the Rocket 1TB SD memory card is only rated as V60, which means sustained write speeds of 60 MBps. However, Sabrent does state the card will easily maintain write speeds above that figure, exceeding UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) requirements. The 1TB Rocket SD card also meets the A1 Application Performance Class specifications for 1500/500 read/write IOPS guaranteed.

Warranty

The Sabrent 1TB Rocket V60 SD UHS-II memory card has a one-year warranty as standard. However, you can extend this to three years by registering your card on the Sabrent website.

Verdict

Sabrent claims that the 1TB Rocket V60 SD UHS-II memory card is great for storing 8K, 4K and 1080p videos. However, as noted above, it is only rated at a maximum sustained write speed of 60 MBps. You should therefore check the specifications of your camera to ensure that this will meet your needs before buying. If you need this size and type of memory card, however, the only competition is the Angelbird V60 1TB card, which costs $30 more.

Pricing and availability

The Sabrent 1TB Rocket V60 SD UHS-II memory card is out now and priced at $269.
