The Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also reaffirmed that his country will be reassessing the war-related situation in Ukraine from new positions, aiming to support Ukraine’s fight even more.

Despite a previous strain in relations because of the disagreements associated with grain imports and increased control of some border crossings, Poland has been a steadfast ally of Ukraine during Russia’s conflict. The new aid initiative signifies efforts to strengthen ties, with Sikorski emphasizing the commitment to support Ukraine through enhanced military capabilities and resources.

Newly updated political guidelines align with Poland’s broader strategy to reinforce its partnership with Kyiv in the face of regional challenges.

“We are looking at all issues to do with Ukraine with fresh eyes. We’re examining what options we have of making more ammunition and equipment and also what we still have in our stores,” Sikorski said in his commentary during the interview with Reuters.

Poland has previously supported Ukraine with military and financial assistance. Latest Sikorski’s comments suggest a shift in strategy, indicating a willingness to explore options for expanding ammunition and military hardware production to provide more substantial aid to Kyiv.

The minister stressed the importance of deterring potential aggression and highlighted the potential consequences of not supporting Ukraine in effectively defending itself against external threats.
