LumaTouch’s LumaFusion is a multi-track video editor for mobile devices used by journalists, filmmakers and professional video producers. Previously the app has only been available for Apple iOS. However, LumaTouch has announced that LumaFusion is now available in an early release beta for Android and ChromeOS.
Simple interface
LumaFusion is a powerful video editing app with features such as multiple aspect ratios and framerates, track layering, cropping, audio mixing and custom titling. You can also do multi-layer effects with keyframing. This level of video editing may seem daunting on a small smartphone or tablet screen. However, LumaFusion keeps its interface simple by hiding away features until you need them.
Editing
With LumaFusion, you can layer up to six video and six audio tracks, depending on the features of your mobile device. In addition, the magnetic timeline has features such as insert and overwrite as well as the ability to link and unlink clips. You can also display track headers for locking, hiding and muting tracks. Using the Multiselect feature, you can cut, copy and paste in your timeline and between projects.
Effects
LumaFusion includes green screen, luma and chroma keys. It also has powerful color correction tools and includes color LUTs like FiLMiC deLog. In addition, you can import your own .cube or .3dl LUTs. You can even animate your effects with keyframes. LumaFusion has a speed FX tool, so you can create fast or slow motion as well as time lapses.
Audio
LumaFusion’s audio editing tools allow you to keyframe audio levels and add panning and EQ for perfect mixes. You can also fill from left or right for dual-mono audio captures. In addition, the app has an Auto-ducking features so that you can duck music during dialog.
Titler
With LumaFusion’s titling feature, you can create multilayer titles with shapes and images. You can also adjust the font, color, face, border and shadow of your titles. In addition, you can save and share title presets for use in other projects.
Verdict
LumaFusion is a popular and highly-respected mobile editing app. The only downside previously is that it has been solely for iOS users. With the new release, LumaFusion is now available to Android and ChromeOS users as well, which will only increase its popularity.
Pricing and availability
The LumaFusion app is available now on the Google Play Store and the Samsung Galaxy Store. The beta version costs $20, which is a $10 discount on the regular price of $30. If you buy it now, you will also receive the final version for free when it becomes available at the end of the year.
