How to Use the LimeWire AI Image Generator
Here’s how I used LimeWire to generate an AI image of a superhero in an epic fantasy. It’s really quick and easy!
- Select Image
- Write a Text Prompt
- Generate
- Make Edits
Step 1: Select Image
I started by going to the LimeWire homepage and selecting “Image.”
Step 2: Write a Text Prompt
I could describe any image I wanted to create in the empty text field. I wasn’t sure what to make, so I chose one of the text prompts offered as inspiration: “Superhero in epic fantasy” and hit send.
Step 3: Generate
After creating an account with my email, LimeWire instantly generated a 1024 x1024 px image of a superhero! From here, I had a couple of options:
- Publish the image on LimeWire and mint it to a Blockchain, edit the image using text prompts, download the picture as a JPG, or create a variant of the image.
- Create a new AI image generation.
Creating a new image generation gave me plenty of models, including Stable Diffusion XL v1.0 and DALL-E 3, available on the Pro version of LimeWire. I could also adjust various settings, such as the quality, prompt guidance, and image dimension (1024 x 1024, 832 x 1216, and 1216 x 832) to customize my content how I wanted.
Step 4: Make Edits
In my case, I wanted to outpaint the image to give it a bigger background and establish more context. I selected the three dots on my image and hit “Outpaint Image.”
Below the image, LimeWire let me choose the outpaint direction (all, top, right, bottom, or left). I could also give LimeWire a negative prompt describing what I didn’t want to see and choose the number of images I wanted LimeWire to generate (1 or 2).
I went with outpainting in all directions, with no negative prompt and one image, and hit “Generate.”
After a few seconds, LimeWire expanded the background of my original image on all sides! LimeWire did an excellent job of retaining the original photo. However, I wish some elements, like the skyscrapers, could have been more detailed.
Overall, using LimeWire for image generation was a seamless experience. I liked that I could immediately start generating images with a prompt when I got on the homepage.
The generation was quick and accurate, and the editing tools came in handy and worked well. The user-friendly interface ensured a smooth experience for new and experienced creators.
Those are just a few things you can do with LimeWire. They offer free credits to try their features, so I’d encourage you to create an account and see for yourself!

GetIMG
GetIMG is one of my favorite AI image generators and a popular alternative to LimeWire. The platform gives you everything you need to create images with AI, including an AI image generator, an image-to-video generator, outpainting, and the ability to make a custom AI model.
LimeWire may not offer an image-to-video generator, but it does let you upscale your images to enhance the quality, comes with an AI assistant, and enables you to generate music with AI.
Besides generating stunning works of art with its 80+ AI models, one of my favorite things about GetIMG is the number of images you can generate for free monthly. With GetIMG, you can generate 100 images per month for free. Meanwhile, LimeWire gave me ten credits for image editing and generation, with more credits used for higher-quality images.
GetIMG and LimeWire are user-friendly AI image generators that generate stunning images with built-in editing tools like outpainting. Choose GetIMG for the most AI models, free image generations, and features like image-to-video generation and custom AI models. These tools are great for creating a new profile picture or character design.
