Fujifilm released the latest edition to its X series of mirrorless cameras, the Fujifilm X-H2. The X-H2 has an almost identical body to the X-H2S but has notable differences in its internal build and performance.
Specs
The X-H2 is a durable weather-sealed mirrorless camera developed to accompany you on your adventures. Like the X-H2S, the camera has dual card slots, one CFexpress slot and one SD slot. It also has a vari-angle, flip-out monitor that can make a full rotation while the cables are plugged in — a huge plus. It sports a full-sized HDMI port and can be powered by battery or charged via a USB-C connection.
Most notably, the X-H2 is equipped with a new 40.2 MP sensor. This sensor fuels the camera’s 8K capabilities and high-resolution stills. You can shoot video up to 8K 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color. You can also shoot up to 4K at 60p and Full HD at 240p.

Improved recording time
Fujifilm boasts about the X-H2’s improved recording time. Given the right environment and accessories, this camera can record 8K 30p for up to 160 minutes. There’s even a cooling fan accessory you can purchase to extend video recording sessions in high heat. It seems very helpful for outdoor shoots.
Autofocus
The X-H2’s larger sensor means an increased number of focus points. This helps with the accuracy of focus on both moving and stationary subjects. Fujifilms’ subject detection autofocus can detect and track a variety of subjects and vehicles. Some notable detectible subjects are birds, cars, airplanes and human faces and eyes.
Additionally, there is a new focus meter that aims to further assist in capturing crisp and clear footage. Like its predecessor, the X-H2 has 5-axis internal image stabilization, with up to seven stops of compensations.
A major improvement in the X-H2 is the increased shutter speed, with a max shutter speed of 1/180,000. This upgrade makes for quick capture of speedy subjects and longer exposures for creative and dynamic stills.
Verdict
Fujifilm’s X-H2 is designed for travel. It’s clear by the improvement of the 40 MP sensor and recording duration that Fujifilm wants adventurers and creatives to keep the brand in mind for their image-capturing needs.
