SWIT has launched a new range of ultra-slim RGBW panel lights. The VANGO series has three models based on SWIT’s popular PL-E60, PL-E90 and PL-E90L lights. The VANGO-70 is a 70 Watt (W) 1×1 panel, the VANGO-100 is a 100 W 2×1 panel and the VANGO-100L is a 100W long ratio 3×0.5 panel.

These lights are bright
SWIT says that the panels are brighter than its competitors in RGB mode. The company claims the 70 W VANGO-70 can reach the brightness of other 200 W RGB lights. They also claim that the output from the 100 W VANGO-100 is comparable to other 300 W panels. SWIT states that this is due to its patented Time-division technology. An additional benefit of the reduced power consumption is that you get a longer runtime when using V-mount or Gold mount batteries. The lights also come with an AC power adaptor.

These lights are thin
The VANGO panels use SWIT’s unique Edge-mounted technology to keep the design thin. This means that the panels are all only 0.78 inches in depth. SWIT claims these are the first RGBW panel lights to use the technology. The VANGO-70 is around 12.3 inches square and weighs 8.8 pounds. The VANGO-100 is around 22.9 inches by 12.3 inches and weighs 13.2 pounds. Finally, the VANGO-100L is 6.4 inches by 33 inches in size and weighs 10.8 pounds.
These lights are quiet
SWIT’s VANGO panels have a passive metal cooling system and don’t need any cooling fans. The fanless design means that the lights are silent in use, so you can use them without worrying about issues with your audio. This makes the lights great for filming in small, quiet locations or when you need to position the lights near your microphones.
These lights are color accurate
The panels have a CRI of 95 and a TLCI of 92. In CCT mode, they also have a wide range from 2800 Kelvin (K) to 10,000 K. The panels have a built-in diffuser which SWIT says creates a very soft light and removes the need for a softbox. The diffuser also eliminates the issue of multiple shadows, which can happen with some panel lights.
These lights are easy to use
The VANGO panels have a 3.5-inch color display on the back. With the knob hotkey, you can easily adjust color and brightness with high precision. The panels also have CCT, HIS, RGB, CIE and Light Effects modes. In addition, they have a Gel Selection mode that emulates Rosco and Lee gels. You can also control the lights via DMX and the SWIT Console mobile app for iOS and Android devices. For further light control, the panels all have removable aluminum 4-leaf barn doors.
Pricing and availability
The VANGO-70 and VANGO-100 are available now. They retail at $799 and $1,099, respectively. SWIT says that the VANGO-100L will be available from quarter three of this year.
