From the recently presented official data, it can be seen that the U.S. military support for Ukraine amounted to “only” 42 billion (converted to EUR). Meanwhile, the European Union provided 40.3 billion EUR in support and military assistance for the country aiming to resist the Russian invasion.
Unexpected data? Who is sending the most weapons to Ukraine?
“The statement ‘Germany is not doing anything about Ukraine’ is really wrong. The question is whether we are supplying the necessary weapons for Ukraine to win the war. My answer is: no! We supply defensive systems, but we need offensive weapons,” said Julian Röpcke, BILD journalist, in his post on X social network.
For convenience of comparison, the data presented in the infographic has been converted to EUR. The military assistance provided between January 24, 2022, and July 31, 2023, was included in this statistic.
“I am not saying that air defense is not needed. But it is also clear that this alone does not help win the war, but rather prolongs it. The (supposed) doubling of our military aid next year should include attack systems. Those who criticize us the loudest should ask themselves what their words are worth, namely to defend our security in Ukraine… the numbers say otherwise,” writes Röpcke.
